Anisotropy of flow and the order of phase transition in relativistic heavy ion collisions

چکیده
Using a hydrodynamical model we study how the order of phase transition in the equation of state of strongly interacting matter affects single particle spectra, elliptic flow and higher order anisotropies in Au+Au collisions at RHIC ( √ sNN = 200 GeV energy). We find that the single particle spectra are independent of the order of phase transition and that the fourth harmonic v4(pT ) shows only a weak dependence in the pT region where hydrodynamics is expected to work. The differential elliptic flow, v2(pT ), of baryons shows the strongest dependence on equation of state. Surprisingly the closest fit to data was obtained when the equation of state had a strong first order phase transition and a lattice inspired equation of state fits the data as badly as a purely hadronic equation of state.

Chiral phase transition in relativistic heavy-ion collisions revisited: toward a description of weak magnetic fields effects Revista Mexicana de Física, It has recently been pointed out that in peripheral collisions of heavy nuclei at high energies, a sizable magnetic field is produced in the interaction region. This fact opens up the possibility to study the chiral phase transition in a quark ...

Theoretical models suggest that the Quantum Chromo-Dynamics (QCD) phase diagram has a critical point demarcating the order of transition between the two phases: the hadron gas, in which the quarks are confined and the Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP). The central goal of the experiments with relativistic heavy-ion collisions is to create and study such form of matter called the QGP and understand the Q...

The phase transitions in strongly interacting bulk matter predicted by the quantum chromodynamics (QCD) should manifest their existence in different physical scenarios such as the evolution of inhomogeneities in the early universe, structure of compact stars, spectra of particles from nuclear collisions at ultra-relativistic energies, etc. In particular, the relativistic heavy ion collisions ar...

We analyze the second Fourier coefficient v(2) of the pion azimuthal distribution in noncentral heavy-ion collisions in a relativistic hydrodynamic model. The exact treatment of the decay kinematics of resonances leads to almost vanishing azimuthal anisotropy of pions near the midrapidity, while the matter elliptic flow is in plane at freeze-out. In addition, we reproduce the rapidity dependenc...

We report recent results from a multiphase transport (AMPT) model on the azimuthal anisotropies of particle momentum distributions in heavy ion collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. These include higher-order anisotropic flows and their scaling, the rapidity dependence of anisotropic flows, and the elliptic flow of charm quarks. PACS numbers: 25.75.Ld, 24.10.Lx
